Peter maybe you should make haste with the "bathtub" and get it to Hampton Court the soonest ...... it's fetching shade of slightly distressed international orange would be an excellent addition to the Thames side scenery !!!

Let's start with them finnish migrants cluttering up northern waters, one with very oily hands, could slimy Finn be the word? I've heard they are planning to stay in Gargrave more than 14 days. Changes need to be rung, sink em! OK, now you've done it! The Witch has cast a spell. Keep an eye out for black cats (her familiars)!

Nothing like grenfell because if it all goes tits up its just a one way first class Eurostar ticket to sort it. No court nothing. That's why it is a problem At least with council owned slums there is some sort of accountability. The same can not be said in this situation.

The problem is that someone putting very large unslightly vessels like this puts pressure on people who are living on the water and minding their own business. These boats are basically slum temporary accommodation. Its simple. Its about making money (a lot of it) and it is having a negative impact on people who have been living on boats for many years. Its funny you mention houses and Lamborghini's because i'm pretty sure the money generated by these boats would buy those things. And the people who suffer ? Those people with very little money who have been living on the river for years. I have a friend who lives on a couple of narrow boats with his missed and two kids. They used to moor on Ham lands no trouble kept themselves to themselves they are friendly people. Then trotman forced the bye law change and they have had to take a paid midstream mooring. Much less safe in winter than a bankside mooring and it costs money. All caused by the slum boats. This is a fact. Simple. Sorry for this late reaction, when I was re-reading this topic, I didn't see what's so funny about the houses and Lamborghini's I mentionned, as these obviously belonged to the sort of trendy people that have their several millions costing designer houseboats built and moored somewhere where less fortuned people have to move to give a top mooring for their floating palaces.
They are people from all over the world, bankers, oil-sheiks, maffia bosses and other criminals that haven't been found yet, this sort of people earn (or simply get) more (some lots more) than £ 10.000 per day to play with (which is maybe even more than you've got to play with).
A pisstaker like Trottman may make some money, if he really rents out spaces (I don't say accomodations) on his slum palace(s), but I can't imagine for one moment that that sort of income would allow him to buy houses and Lamborghini's.
Before you think that I'm writing all of this because I'm jealous, I can tell you that that's really not the case, but what I don't like is that these extremely wealthy people make it more and more difficult for people that haven't got that sort of money to play with, to simply survive where they are (where).
Peter.
