I started painting my boat at the weekend, start with the roof, sand down and apply two coats.
Couldn't kneel on Saturday as the metal was that hot, then had to work very fast as the paint was drying quick time, Sunday we managed to get one coat on and fucked it off by 12pm, was sweating just standing still.
Now i have a to go back and try and cool the roof down through the week with the hose so it hardens, then i can fix the solr panel back down, will put a photo up so Rog can admire my big panel.
Next weekend we plan to get a couple of coats on each side, when its going to be hotter, genius!

What is the best strategy for dealing with rudely hot weather ? There's an ice cream boat in Skipton. My mate bought my Dawncraft 22 to make an ice cream boat, but he didn't quite follow through, his performing work picked up.

How daft is that? Painting steel when it's hot? I painted around our sliding hatch in the evening as the metal was cool but had residual heat to 'cook' it slowly, and then the metal cools and cools overnight and then when it's dry βBLAM!β the Sun bakes it hard the next morning. You just won silly post of the day, ill send the crown back. Prepping and painting the roof of a 57ft boat cant really be done in the evening, took most of saturday to prep, cut in and get the first coat down, then half of Sunday to do the second. Didnt really fancy working into the night.

This is what you do on rudely hot day π’π Funny you should say that as I took the yot from Molesey to Henley over the last couple of days. Strangely enough there is a slimy Indian selling cold beer in henley near the river so I gave him some cash. It does seem unbelievable but Staines upon Thames rail bridge was a beautiful sight on Saturday evening. All the air pollution from Heathrow made some wonderful colours in the night sky.

I've always hated Staines' rail bridge.

It's difficult to capture the full colours in a sunrise/sunset shot I find. Rog

It was unusual and I do think it may have been air pollution. there is the m25 and Heathrow there.
