That has got to be a pricing gun error. Who would ever pay £25.68 for a single hook? I was guessing high at £13....but that is utterly ridiculous. The owner visits CWDF. I hope he visits here too, as I'd love to hear a justification of that price. Rog I was innocently wondering if somebody here who visits CWDF might wish to send him a PM inviting him to comment. EDIT to add that this was the price both on the shelf and in their book behind the counter. Stumpy ?

Stumpy, jenlyn, the bfg, Peterboat.
I'd do it myself, but I don't know how....pathetic innit.

Perhaps its in case any items go missing or are broken after hire, they can then point to stocks as being their shelf price to replace as in the terms and conditions they likely signed up for? Do I sound cynical? I think you have hit the nail on the head

It did quite shock me. I know that chandlers are always going to be more expensive than retail sheds and I thought it might be £6 or £7, but over £25 in incredible. In the end I ordered one on the internet and it was £3.49 inc P&P. I understand that physical retail businesses have higher overheads than online retailers but at the same time is it any wonder that punters are deserting them in droves when they add a mark-up like this to goods? Presumably even if 9 out of 10 customers decline to buy at that price, the occasional mug punter makes it worthwhile.

10-40W. Gearbox can take that but prefers straight SAE 30.

Do you know if they have any/more than one or two in stock? They had around a dozen in that size, and a dozen in the next size up (I had to compare the old one with the new ones to be 100% sure of the right size.)
