I shall try my best to use appropriate apostrophes. How do you stand on split infinitives and the oxford comma? Should that have been ‘apostrophes’ or were you being ironic ;-) Welcome..I think you will fit in here just fine.... We don't all 'waffle in this cesspit of God's mistakes'..some of us impart pure pearls of wisdom Feel free to wander off topic in a thread..the subject matter can trigger quite unrelated thoughts that then can make for very interesting discussions...it'll return to topic..or not

'ello red You'll enjoy it here. Just a quick note to point out an unusual feature which is that you can edit thread titles if there is anything wrong like an apostrophe in wrong place etc

Will you all stop talking about apostrophes, I don't have a Scooby what you're on about. Just leave it to spell checker, he'll sort it out for you Phil

Excellent, my very first title on my very first thread gets pulled on grammar... does that make me an apostrophe winner, or just crap?

Welcome Red !!! checked in this morning to find this thread ........ a good giggle before breakfast !!! it often seems to happen here (by the way I hope you are not a relative of "Big Red" as the annual attempt by various members of this parish to prevent him ruining our winter celebrations is about to start !!!

Welcome "Red" - I think there are more ginners on here than admit it anyways... some are too embarrassed by the kudos one naturally has by being blessed in such a way and hide their modesty under a bushel (what ever one of those is)... AS for my gorgeous self, I embrace it and shout it from the cabin roof!

Been stuck in a tedious meeting all day and surreptitiously checking in now and then on the pretence of scanning my very, very important work emails. Which aren’t, I might add. Ever.
It gets you through knowing that sitting in crappy air-conditioned offices pretending to be interested in the finer details of someone’s pet project is paying (just about) for floaty happiness.

Nope. An engineer, of the desk bound variety. Not a bad life, get to meet lots of interesting (and not so interesting) people, but sadly it rarely involves cute kittens and smiley hounds.

Oh no! You're obviously new here. Don't use the 'E' word. Like a red rag to a bull to some on here Rog
