I am able to bumble about the waterways for nine months a year because I'm an old wreck. What's not to like Oh, and popped home at the weekend and fixed up my winter job for 1st October. Two months bumbling left. Rog

There are times that thinking about yourself comes first Patty, after all you've been through, you're more than entitled to finally do something that (hopefully) will make you happy.
Let's hope you'll get an decent offer after the viewings on friday.
Best of luck with it,
Peter.

If no offer comes I'll carry on here until one does and hope the place I want is equally unpopular..Estate Agent said the low ceilings of this other place put people off..I didn't notice any..until she pointed them out cos I passed under them easily and its only really one stretch leading to the main bedroom...its a longish stretch of hallway so I guess normal height people have to walk ducked for a while.....Interesting idea if you've had a few...There are communal gardens, key pad entrance, room for sons white van and feels very safe...just the place I can leave to go wandering...or rent out if I want long womble away..

As this new place (if it happens) will be for you, and possibly the occasional visitor, the only really important thing is that it suits you, and that you feel happy there.
If you can go through the whole place without having to duck down, all is fine, the others will have to adapt and duck down if-when and where that's neccesary, they'll soon find out .
Peter.

I have been belatedly reading up on the Fens history. In 1618, as recorded in ‘Acts of the Privy Council’, Sir Clement Edmonds’ Report to them (as to opening up the choked channels of the Nene and Welland) concluded rather bitterly: “ He that will do any good in serving must do it against the will of such as shall profit by it.” That certainly struck a chord with me. How much more likely then, that the next generation of beneficiaries will grumble about their predecessors?
