Too much for me to list but the basics are that my month or so trip to the North East with Sabina H has turned into 15 months and counting.
Welcome back ricco

Uh oh - he's gone again. Must be afraid of reprisals.
"At least I scared the bejeebles out of that little girl at the post office. She'll be scarred for life, if we're lucky. Funny she didn't rat on us, though. Must be afraid of reprisals."

I must admit only the other day I as wondering what had happened to Ricco and his marvelous RS125. We are hoping to move house after getting screwed over by the school admissions team. School catchment area and postcode lottery make spending a fortune on a house move along with swelling the coffers of estate agents, conveyancers and removal firms a necessary evil. Boating wise I'm nailing a turbo to the BMC, it has steadied up lately on account of the above, but I'm hoping to get back on it after a big effort round the house this weekend. As thebfg said - welcome back π»π’π Well Rensol has had a full repaint this summer. Yes, even the drainage channels under the cruiser deck. Started early June finished ermm about a week ago. Not going to win any 'boat of the year' prizes but for an amateur job, it aint bad. On to more important matters: The RS125 is still hanging proudly off the back of Rensol as I potter along. It's had its issues but overall, at nearly 40 years old, it's been pretty reliable. My current problem is blowing (6v) headlight bulbs. No others blow and the regulated voltage is OK. Checked all earths, connections etc. I'm putting it down to shit bulbs. Unfortunately not many options there. Trying not to ride at night is the current solution but I might try to lash up some kind of 'auxilliary' light one day, when I get the urge. Should really do a 12v upgrade but haven't got the will at the moment. Only other issue is a slight crack at the top of one of the lower fork legs. A hose clip holds it together and a wipe with a paper towel gets it through an MOT. Keep looking for a replacement on Ebay, sure one will turn up one day. Gutted earlier in the year, bloke was selling a lovely boat with a tug deck that would have held an RD250 or an X7 perfectly. Selling Rensol would have covered the cost of it, but someone beat me to it!

Not been on here for months. Feel a little revitalised now. Any interesting Victims conquests to add to your bulging bedpost notch tally?

Have to be honest, I'm getting older, it's not getting any easier. Went to a new area this summer though (Northwich) and did manage to pick some low hanging fruit, couple of different varieties.

Thanks for the concern folks. Things are a bit difficult but not catastrophically so, Iβve just got an important event coming up on Monday that is difficult and requires preparation. Iβve also got a lot going on with my role as airspace rep for Scottish gliding. There is a constant battle between glider pilots and other general aviators, vs the establishment / air traffic / airport operators who want to grab loads of airspace to be under their control for no particularly good reason. There are a couple of consultations out that need response and also I please to say that an All Party Parliamentary Group are looking into how Leisure Aviation is suffering atbthe hands of CAA and ever expanding controlled airspace. They want evidence presented. I am also doing the annual maintenance on one of our gliders and have found a crack in an aileron that requires a repair. So mostly, itβs just that by chance a number of things are happening at once and I have less time for the forum than usual. Just temporary! Iβm afraid it seems a lot of the old school interests are being threatened by elf and safety along with a lack of interest from youngsters. The average age in our ham radio club is about 100...even with me in it! I still recon you canβt beat reality and taking risks, but itβs not so popular these days.

Quite a few years ago I spent some time learning to fly a microlight; down near Romney marsh way. I was amazed at the amount of restrictions in airspace over the whole Uk there are, and the rapidity with which the little free airspace left is being gobbled up - so I salute your efforts on behalf of all! (Oh, and thanks for the battery help the other week too!) :-)
