I did the course....had to drive strictly to the speed limit to ensure not late as I overslept. My twin sister did the course with me..we had both been caught within few days of each other whilst we were both visiting our daughters.. On our course were several firemen..apparently most of that shift had been zapped on the same day by the same camera whilst leaving work... I quite enjoyed the course cos we had some really nice people with us..

People who can't even stick a stamp on an envelope properly shouldn't be trusted to drive complicated things like motor vehicles. The only way I can think to show my distain at the whole shenanigans!

30mph zones are so that when you hit a child who has run out from between cars you hit them at 30 max. 37 will kill them, 30 may just give them cross-eyes. Ok ...... but ..... wtf would a child be doing running across the road at 3 am In the decades of driving (mostly motorbikes or band's transits) before the introduction of speed cameras, I never had a speeding ticket, although I was ticked off for it once This is not to say that I was always less than the limit ....... but when I was speeding it was "driving to suit the conditions" and in those days the Old Bill were allowed to use their common sense. Many moons ago I had a ticking off by an unmarked Bedfordshire police traffic patrol. Red hot day, empty B road, bike in fine fettle, Sierra Sapphire keeping pace and almost pressuring me to go a bit quicker. It's hard to spot unmarked plod when you have credit card sized mirrors and a mindful of staying on the blacktop. Dawned on me it was plod when the grill lit up with flashing blue lights! Pull over, this was well before the days of ANPR. Chat about docs etc. Questions then turns to why the hurry and did I know how fast I was going. Couldn't come up with anything other than the road was empty, I fancied a thrash and thought you did too. As for speed? yes, well aware it was probably too much. Plod was great, got a small lecture about being aware of farm traffic, horses and myopic pensioners, told to twist the throttle a bit less hard and to think twice before tearing about with quick cars no matter who is driving. Parting shot was don't let me pull you over again, you won't get the same treatment a second time! I rode off more than a little bit chastened and thankful I'd still got a clean licence. Not all plod are wankers, shame the same can't be said about the camera operators. I've been on the road half as long as Rog, there by the grace of God go I with a clean licence

I've been driving for 27 years (gawd!). I only once talked to a policeman when in car and that was when I was at school just after passing test. A pikey school friend was driving a mini he had just stolen so he got pulled over. I was behind him in the Fourtrak so I stopped and the copper came over to me and said "what the fuck have you stopped for and whose 4 wheel drive is that?" I told him it was my mothers so he said "OK bugger off while we deal with this thieving pikey". True story. Other than the copper swearing. Sadly Other than that never a ticket and I do routinely speed when safe to do so but I don't do a lot of miles. I expect putting in high miles you have to be more cautious.

Commiserations Andy.
It just seems so sneaky to have no interaction, other than a letter.
And I'm particularly miffed because I was 12mph under the M1 speed limit.
But, guilty as charged ... I'll take my punishment.

I did the course late last year. there really are some people that shouldent drive. only two of us actually knew what a duel carriage was or the speed limit on one. we had two of those idiots that argue everything, it made the day really painful. That's why when I got done I opted to take the points. Phil
