OK I'm a dinosaur. I was thinking of sharing some images with the good folks on here. Usually, on Facebook or something it's easy, you just follow a path to the image on your phone and click on it, job done. On here you have to complete a url whatever that is. Can anyone give a quick guide to a technological idiot how I can put pictures from my phone on here?

There will be someone along shortly to answer your query.... This IT dinosaur can make a simple task seem impossible....

I remain unable to complete what I am assured is a simple task. I understand that, since 'the change' we can no longer post a photo (which was simple even for me) but rather have to post a photo to a 'host' with a link to here. Sods law that at the time you ask, there's only three of us online ... and all incompetents Rog ETA I do find it strangely reassuring that I'm not the only one who can't work it out.

Easiest way would be to right-click on the Facebook photo, select "copy image address", post it into a message here then click on the "Insert image" tab above and insert the image.

I use Flickr ..... but I'm told it's neither up to date or particularly easy ...... I can give step by step instructions if you want but only from a laptop users perspective.

IT's not an idiot question so don't be too hard on yourself mister. IF you are wanting to insert/link to a photo already in the web somewhere, step one is to ensure you have (if replying to a topic) done the Reply option to the right not the quick reply ... Then click on the little photo icon in the tool bar - the section 5 left of the smiley face thingy. That brings up a box with image url and Alt text - (the alt text is just the name for said image so you can leave that. Then, in another browser window, assuming you have the photo in ull selection mode (ie you clicked on it) THEN do a right click as has been suggested and copy image address. Switch back to here and then click into the image url box blanking out the beginning and then do a right click and paste the url onto the box hit insert image and voila - It's a bit harder if you first need to upload your own photo from your phone or whatever but small steps and all that...

i use tiny pic other hosts are available and will be a simular process I select file to upload and resize to message board. then upload. once it uploads select and copy the direct link. then paste it into the insert image icon which is the picture one. if it's a you tube link use the film real icon next to it. I hope that helps a little bit.

If you want to copy an image already somewhere else just add (IMG)°°°°(/IMG).
But use square brackets [ not rounded. If i used square brackets above it would show nothing as it is IMG code. °°°° being the text of the image link.
