I asked about trusted forum members because I am new to the boating world and wanted to know from established members whose advise was worth taking. well most established members will believe they probably know best. the only valid expert that I recognise from the various posts is Gibbo, who hasn't been posting in the past few years, but if you want the benefit of his expertise you would need to look at the archives at CWDF. apart from that it is like everything in life - listen to various opinions and make your own mind up. .................. who do you trust out of Theresa, Boris, Bliar, Nigel or Jeremy? ........ same difference innit? P.S. with a username like yours you are opening yourself up to ridicule and you can hardly expect learned replies. 'Bodger'? ................................ yes, I admit to not being a perfectionist in most boat-building and operating practices, but I seem to get by.

I will put my hands up and confess that I am absolutely terrible at correctly pronouncing the names of ancient Greek mythological figures, particularly Telemachus. I am however very good at bashing River Thames bridges.

That is the difficult bit though isn't it? Hence the thread. The forum presumably has members with various "expertise" in which other people trust their judgement.Being a newbie, I was hoping to tap that experience. as Tellymarkus says, MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!! of course if you want an opinion poll I suggest you read old technical posts and then set up a poll thread. ............. trouble is it will just become a popularity contest, as these things always do.

Anyway Gibbo had quite a few good ideas but was far from infallible. He was just one guy with some specialist knowledge, but tended to extend his opinion beyond his specialism which in any case was evidence based not theory based (which has good and bad consequences).

I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious Anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my creator And you will know my name is Gazza when I lay my vengeance upon thee. twat
