You are perfectly right Ross, they weren't yours, and were all of the same person who is another top-poster of TB. I've got nothing against him personally, I just don't like the way he thinks (and makes suppositions) that he knows what other people do. Sorry that you became an innocent victim and got blamed for no reason. Peter. I am guilty of posting inflammatory comments as a way to get discussion going. When bfg started this thread I thought to myself "do not engage as it will get silly". But I did. Next time I will try harder not to. I do know about the subject of immigration but I admit to appearing a bit judgemental as well and a tendency to oversimplify or overcomplicate situations. I will stay out of this sort of topic in future it's just a shame there isn't much else "going on" on the forum. Its too quiet. Never mind. As I wrote before, I've nothing against you as a person (that I've never met so far), but it's the way you regulary write about certain things, which sadly makes me think that you don't care about other peoples situations, as long as all go's well for you and your family, the rest is of no importance. This not caring too much about other people will (possibly) be the same for dozens of others too, but they don't write bad about these people without knowing anything about them in reality. You as an almost daily cruiser could fill the forum with photos- and stories of all the things you see- and do while enjoying your cruises, that would be so much nicer to look at and read about. Btw I vaguely remember a story where you were going to take some more photos of a beautiful old barge not too faraway from you, but the sight of a tattoed guy scared you off, and another story of the A39 that went to a yard for repairs and never heard of since. There would be many interesting things to write about, and I'm looking forward to see and read these. Apart from that, I have to agree with you that it's a shame that there isn't much else "going on" on the forum, and that it is too quiet. If I would write what's going on here, I'm affraid that it could be the reason keyboards getting damaged because of the tears running down on them when reading, and I don't want to get blamed for that too. Peter.

No need to apologise to me, Peter. I think Jim owes you an apology too. I don't need to apologise to Peter, it looked like your style, the young un has obviously learned well from the Master Twaddleposter. So you can have an apology, albeit very small. Now go and polish your halo. Poor.

When bfg started this thread Nothing wrong with bfg bringing this to everyone's attention - it's an serious issue related to canal boating and the authority from whom most of us have to buy our licences. It's a matter that can affect all of us.

He has a site where he posts photographs. Just to clarify that comment. you are not referring to me. I only have one website and that contains my stories for children. No photo hosting anywhere other than occasional uploads on here.

bargemast if you have trouble with your tears damaging the keyboard have you tried a touchscreen? That's what I do as you can just wipe the liquid off.

I think the forum's really quiet because we keep driving regular posters away.

I didn't make it clear enough for everybody to understand, but I was talking about the tears of the people that were reading my postings, and their tears (of compassion) ruining their keyboards, for which I don't want to get blamed for. Peter.

Talking of photos, I shall be doing a touch of boating at Easter, and will try to take photos that may appeal to Thunderboaters.
