except for the fact that many articles and posts were put on that site by people who are now on here ..... that is something they find it convenient to ignore I don't disagree. If Tony had linked to the thread it would appear as normal, he didn't he linked to a directly hosted photo - might seem a mute point to many but it is why the error message is occurring. I've no idea why it worked the way it did, but I did a copy & paste of the photo onto e-mail, and then put the link that appeared on the e-mail into a new 'incognito window' on the laptop.

I would hazard a guess that the reason for not allowing hot-linking is to prevent CWDF being used as a photo host for images to be shown elsewhere.
That could clog up the system.
