Yet I haven't got Covid-19 and died of it. How strange is that? It's a hoax, and all you 'grown-ups' should be ashamed of yourselves for being taken in. You can never tell (even if you're interested enough to wonder) whether he's expressing his own opinion, someone elses, or simply talking shite to wind folk up. Rog think lot is a wind up..but its very uncomfortable seeing some of the disturbing stuff he's posting... the long cut n pastes I just skim but occasionally something catches my eye and to post what he does reflects negatively on him.....

Rog In fairness though, the reality of Covid-19 has not matched the predictions being made last March when it was predicted that there would be 750,000 deaths from it, reducing to 250,000 if lockdown measures were taken. The collateral damage caused by these measures haven't really started to filter through yet but will in 2021. Quite simply, it is a moderately severe virus, coming after a very mild flu season, and even so total overall deaths are almost exactly the same as this time last year. There is no doubt that hysteria has formed a large part of Government strategy.

I understand some may argue about our response to the pandemic ... I have some sympathy with such arguments ... but in fairness it is the world's response not just the UK's .
But that's a long way from simply denying covid 19 exists.

But that's a long way from simply denying covid 19 exists. Rog There have been many different strains of Coronavirus in the past. It's not a question of it existing, it's a question of how serious it is. The only real evidence as to how serious it is, is by looking at the increase in the number if Covid19 hospital admissions. As it happens, it's also the fear of overloading the NHS with hospital admissions which has driven all of the very damaging control measures. The problem has always been trying to weigh up the mental, emotional, physical damage the measures have caused to 67 million of us (most of whom were relatively Ok before this), against saving the lives of thousands of mainly elderly and vulnerable people. It's an impossible decision to get right because there is no right. The problem is that the indirect death toll of the Covid measures will never be measured and quantified because there is no test for that. I think it will be far more damaging than Covd19 though. My mother who is 100 has been saying for many years that she wished there was a little pill she could take to end things. I can't help thinking that we have become obsessed with longevity to the point we are actually causing ourselves suffering, not just us who are getting on a bit, but also the millions of younger people who haven't had the chance to live a life yet.

On her second routine visit the GP had a short conversation with Mum and told her that the previous GP's advice - to keep taking the meds because if she had a stroke it would be dreadful - was no longer relevant, and that if she wanted to she could stop taking all her meds.
Her demeanour changed overnight and she happily told me she wouldn't live for more than a week or so.
She died peacefully 4 days later.

It's different for my mum. A doctor saw her about a year ago and apparently told her that he couldn't find anything wrong with her other than having slightly high blood pressure which she had been taking pills for for ages. She has never liked taking pills and has blamed the blood pressure ones for making her feel confused (we keep telling her it's just old age). Her carer apparently found the pills horded in a draw, so it looks like she doesn't even like taking them! My slight worry was that she may have been hording them for sonething else! BTW, at her request, she still lives on her own in her bungalow with daily visiting care. She's an amazing women really but very stobborn. She's always refused to wear hearing aids, even when we've suggested that they are to help us as much as her! 😂

When I was a kid, got caught in some wrongdoing and tried to weasel my way out of it by saying "Well, Michael did it as well" my Mum would say "If Michael jumped under a bus, would you too?"

When dementia set in, the hearing-aid would go missing every other day, nowhere to be found, and then re-appear the next. Nobody ever discovered what she did with them.

In my mums case I understand she hasn't been diagnosed with dementia yet, although she does take a long time to go from sleep state to awake state. With the hearing aids, she's never had any and refuses to try them despite explaining the improved technology!

We had endless fun with the hearing aid; the spare batteries had to be hidden from her or they would all end up on the bin as 'flat' when they were in fact unused. She suffered a medical emergency six months before the end - an event which precipitated her moving into a care home - and while in the hospital a daft old bat in the bed next to hers kept on stealing the hearing aid (and everything else). Due to one thing and another the aid was never replaced so in the end the only way to communicate was to quite literally speak into her ear.

It's difficult to know due the lack of references where similar strategies were not used. We will never know how many people in the future will die early due to having a lowered immunity from stress, anxiety, hand washing, mask wearing etc. I suppose it won't matter as another government in the future will have to worry about that.

I meant all governments have decided measures are required and necessary ... whether your Mum approves or not you'll have to take up with world governments. Rog
