I fondly remember the LCD watches. Big fan of LCD watches. Not a garage one but this one is stuck to my wrist since the old man died a couple of years ago. Been trying to get it off him since I was about 10 he never wore the thing !! That's the best thing that happened to me for a long time getting that watch. It's ok it's not a Rolex it's a Seiko and not a valuable one.. Refreshingly uncluttered compared to many other similar watches. I was told that wearing a watch on your right arm was a sign of something but I forgot what that is. I've always worn it that side but noticed people quite often seem to wear them on the left arm. I am right handed.

Spent many an hour licking and sticking them for my mum - didn't dream that was what was making us fat! But do you remember that hideous "crockery" they gave away in petrol stations just after they phased out the stamps? My Dad was a lorry driver and we had so, so much of it - and so did all of our neighbours and ........... Still got 3 of the desert plates. (Esso ones) Probably one or two of the glasses as well, although they suffered a lot of casualties during barbecue season I still have a nice decanter, 2 small wine glasses and 2 sherry glasses that you used to be able to get with Esso coupons (and I think 2 of my coffee mugs are from then as well)
The quality of the stuff you got with Esso coupons was very good ....... at that time I was on the road with bands a lot and the mileage I used to do each year was ridiculous ..... and oddly I always had to fill up at Esso stations

I was a 'potatoe and egg' delivery driver during the days when Texaco did their star stickers, the garage where we filled up the vans each day handed out double stickers to us drivers, on my 4th day after I started working for the company a fellow driver caught me handing the whole lot of stickers to 'management' - I was rather urgently taken to one side and informed 'you only give the correct amount to management'!
