Had the shower room re tiled before we set off for a 4 mth trip and couldn't get a new door delivered before so we put up a rail and bought a cheap curtain till we get back. The thing is we've started to prefer the curtain, there's more room, less bother, noise and cleaning, easier to get in and out off etc. Does having a folding door add value? Shower curtains hold water, and whilst drying won’t do your boat interior much good.

I'd say a shower door would add 'saleability' if the rest of the boat was to a reasonably high standard. Not value though. A shower curtain, readily transferable between bow and stern, is just what your boat could do with whilst you're having to contend with all C&RT's short leaky locks !

When we start looking for a boat it wont really matter to us, a door may look better but probably a curtain is more practical. As long as it's a seperate shower and not a wetroom we dont really mind.

I dislike shower curtains, but it’s not a reason to reject a boat. It’s a pretty easy job to remove a curtain and install a door.
