I am the same as Martin John it will always look a mess! We know very well how difficult his passage is going to be with low bridges I suspect he is in for a nasty surpise

Another thing people might not think about with boats which are top heavy is if you have to go through any locks there is a risk of the top edge of the cabin colliding with the lock wall. Perhaps due to wind or water turbulence.
More risky on tender narrow beam craft but could be a bit technical on a fairly narrow barge with an extra deck. Depending on plating and anything inside the cabin adding weight high up. The biggest hazard is if it tips over in a lock when someone is getting on or off the boat from the side decks.
Well dodgy.

Its somebodies dream boat I guess and hope it turns out OK.. Not one that appeals so much to me, doesn't look quite right. Lovely pics John, what an interesting place to be....glad u r enjoying life up there

Well the Ben Harvey is now finished (to the stage the owner wanted) and is now preparing for its trip up the Trent.
A rapid turnround and a returning customer, one of my favourite boats (as a sea going, although restricted, passenger boat it needs to dock for an MCA inspection plus there are a few improvements they want to make )
