It's kind of weird how Covid disappeared on the very day that Russia invaded Ukraine. Even Whitty and Vallance have given up now. It's almost like The Powers That Be had got everybody conditioned to the idea of being locked down, of fuel and bog roll shortages and everybody had a face mask to wear for when the nukes start going off. I think it's kind of weird that Covid started after the majority here voted to exit the EU...or maybe that's one conspiracy too far? Either way it seems we are to be kept in a state of fear. Unfortunately people become desensitised to it. We grew up with the threat of nukes overhanging us every second of the day. Nothing has changed really. Well, apparently steel is an excellent shield against gamma radiation so a nuke wouldn't really affect narrowboaters while getting rid of all the yoghurt-potters and house dwellers. What's not to like?

What's not to like? Yeah but knowing my luck I'll be in a pub when one goes off! Still, one thing we should all learn from this is to try to appreciate and enjoy every day as best as we can. Life is a miracle really but sadly very volatile.

All that ever happens is what is happening in the present. Worrying about what might happen, such as war on our shores, is actually completely pointless. If it happens it happens. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen. Nothing else is possible. I like to think of it as "that which is". That's it. Fuck all else is available

However it's not always easy to follow it because billions of dollars are pumped into making us worry about stuff. Fear of death, fear of being laughed at, fear of being 'unpopular' etc. Behavioural psychology has become a very powerful and dangerous tool.

This is true.
I think loads of people do take this nuclear war thing quite seriously.
As far as I'm concerned if it happens then it happens. It's not really particularly serious either way.
Obviously IF it happened it could all get quite interesting and slightly dodgy but so what?
One just has to get on with it.
Mass media is totally crazy these days. I do look at the news outlets on the phone just to see what is being thrown at people.
It's quite funny in a way seeing the different sides. The US news is a real hoot comparing CNN and Fox. They are so blatantly biased it's laughable.

During the last 2 years I preferred to go on scientific based web sites and make my own mind up. It's also surprising what you can find on our own government, NHS, ONS data sites. Lots of stuff you rarely see in the mainstream media (perhaps because it's not sensational or fit).
