Goodness, how young we were once.... Never realised you'd owned your boat THAT long! That was only in 2019 as well, I think in 2021 it was down to around 58ppl and it had recently gone up then. I asked them what was the cheapest it had been of late and they said low 50s and they could have got down into the high 40s but chose to increase the margin a little instead.

We plan our weeks meals now, used to before but it was always a little fluid, now i know every day what we are going to eat, drop in a few budget meals like jacket spud with cheese and beans, Fridays are also panini night, Gill has tomato and cheese and she tells me i can have tuna mayo and cheese as a treat.

Filled up with diesel at Turners ... £1.28ppl Amazing to see them selling at over a quid ... a real sign of the times. Rog Possibly not worth the detour, rog, if you're Braunston bound. Fazeley Mill was 127 a few weeks back - but I expect my favourite poster will be along shortly to correct that and boast about moorers' discounts now..............

We did anyway metanoia ... no services after Greensforge so a visit to Wheaton Aston seemed worthwhile for that, and diesel ... plus we had a meal in the Hartley Arms which is a pub we always like. Rog ETA coincidentally patty I had sticky toffee pudding with berries and ice cream in the Hartley Arms ... it was utterly wonderful ☺️

However, there's always water at Wildside and the good ol' boys at Oxley Moor are very accommodating. Hope you stopped off at Brewood for home grown tomatoes and runner beans at 50p a bag. By the way, did you take that detour up the Stourbridge?

Funnily enough,I ended up with a huge bag(about 1.5kilos)of home grown toms from our Wash guide. His wife was picking him up & he said she'd been picking toms & they were giving them to friends as they had so many.I just said lucky peeps as I love toms.Ended up with a bag of striped, red & yellow toms which taste amazing.😋😋

Diesel £1.35 at Fazeley, although of course with our 10% discount it’s £1.21. Shame I put so much in from Dusty fuel boat near Oxford, that was £1.45. It’s funny how prices go, diesel on the Thames is extortionate but we popped into the rather posh Windsor Marina for a pump out and it was £18, which seemed pretty reasonable (FMM is 18.50 for moorers, otherwise £20).

It was a dark day when Heinz dropped their range of boil-in-the-tin puddings. I have neither forgotten nor forgiven. The treacle one was the best, and the spotted dick a very close second. Served with a generous portion of custard. Scoffy or wot.

Sorry JohnV ... I'm not by nature a trouble causer ... it's been said I have a sweet nature ... doh! It must simply be my subconscious raising puddings all the time ... if I was a genuine trouble causer I'd have to accept my just deserts ... doh! I'll try to turnover a new leaf ... doh! Rog ETA I was going to carry on but my resolve crumbled ... doh !
