As promised, here are a few 'still' photos. Some more to follow tomorrow, if I remember. View from our car/tent, near Storuman, central Sweden. Mosjøen, Norway. Mosjøen, Norway. Ferry to Vega, near Brønnøysund, Norway. Brønnøysund, Norway. 'Seven Sisters' from Vevelstad, Norway. Sandnessjøen, with Seven Sisters as backdrop, Norway. Dønnamannen mountain on the island of Dønna, from Sandnessjøen, Norway. One of the Hurtigruten ferries heading south after having stopped in Sandnessjøen, Norway.

Colours 10/10 Framing and composition 9/10 Horizon 4/10 Well done that fox Those pics will be in the video(s).... now all 'shots' downloaded/uploaded (whatever!)... so now I have to count them and see how long the video clips are, and then try and work out how to fit them to the music. I did have one 'brainflash' this morning about splitting a piece of music and using it at the beginning and end... but first things first. I can piss about this evening, but have other things to do tomorrow morning.

Must try harder, lacking depth or character some of them, its just objects, you'll get better I'm sure over time.

Just a little compact Olympus Stylus SH-1, bought in 2015 for around £220. On shots where there is a clear area (eg. sky at sunset) there is now a noticeable 'dark spot' which is something to do with the light sensor coming to the end of its days. Most pics you can't see it. I was looking at Olympus-D cameras in Norway, and have been reading a bit about them... time to treat myself to a new camera, but no hurry. Very happy with this little SH-1. My old 'real' camera (and the one before that) was an Olympus OM-1, with 24mm, 28-70mm, the standard Zuico 50mm that came with the camera, and a 70-220mm lenses. Most people think if you have an expensive and fancy camera it will automatically "take good pics" - of course, quality helps, but it's mainly the photographer's eye and skill that makes the shot. I use a tripod a lot.

À naughtyfox thread with no mention of covid, rearing it's disruptive ugly off topic head? Someone is slacking.🤣 Otherwise, great pics as ever. Are you saving the pics of Greta walking on water over fjords full of floating masks for later?

particularly love the picture of Vevelstad
the intense colours and the contrast between them are brilliant

Have just finished counting the stills/video clips/other items... comes to 258 (after pruning & editing).
Next task is to see how long the video clips are, and count all the time up, and see what total time the music takes and try to squash it all together somehow.
I may use some extra music pieces. I have to work out what pics/videos go with what music and in what order.
It will be done with the 'historical' angle basically (trip beginning to end) but the material, in that way, will not fit the music. So the music itself will be what dictates. I have to keep about 200 items in mind and remember them all and try to work out what would go well with what. It's only for fun, but I will try to make it 'neat'.
Text for pics & clips might be appropriate.. or will it distract from the 'viewing experience'? Perhaps better to have an explanation/description before each set?
The basic idea is 'This part of Norway/Scandinavia not seen like this before'. I think it will not mean much to those who don't know the area, but for anyone living in those parts they may find it amusing to see things in a different light.
I'll post some more pics this evening. The videos will take some days, I think. This is the sort of thing I have in mind (but this is just timelapses of a set speed (5mins into 20 secs), with no 'still' pics thrown in):

Like I asked? I did ask in Toyota (Mo i Rana) how much it would cost to change the engine oil + filter in our car - 4.2 litres of 0-20W oil. He said 237 Euros (2,370 Norwegian Crowns ... you just divide NOK by 10, same with Swedish SEK). We had our oil + filter changed yesterday at Toyota here at home (Kokkola) - 130 Euros. Used to be around 85 (about a year ago?). Only 6,000 kilometres driven since the last oil change, but it's a nice 'thank you' for our little engine. The 0-20W oil costs 30 Euros/litre, said the Mo i Rana Toyota man. Petrol & food about the same price Norway/Finland. Strong alcohol (whisky, vodka) is about 40% more expensive in Norway compared to Finland (which is roughly the same as in the UK); 9 years ago strong alcohol was 100% more expensive in Norway.

Up to a point. Unfortunately the pics. display all the typical oversaturation of the early Olympus Pen range of cameras which I believe this camera's under pinnings are based on. I got rid of my early Pen as I got fed up of having to tone them down in my photo editing software.
