Blimey! An hour has gone by, and you haven't changed your user name and avatar. Are you feeling OK? Why do you not pose that question to your friend andrew? He has changed his name umpteen times this week. No I haven't, and despite some assumptions I don't have any sock puppets either.
I was Jesus in user name with "a" as a display name. Oh yes I suppose there was the Wankpuffin thing. I forgot about that. This was under my current user name which now has the invisible "a" display name.
As I have now achieved full ascension the Jesus username has been deleted.
It still isn't "umpteen times" though is it.

You have changed your name twice in the last 24 hours which means you have actually had 3 names, that is umpteen times.

Ah.
That is interesting. I didn't quite "get it" before. Hello.

A possible answer to Nick Telemachus question about the invisible editing carried out by a previous poster www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/234Invisible editing "plugin" for proboards. I wonder what other "plugins" there are.
ETA scrub that...I think that is for admin actually.

To claim Nigel's manner was the same as yours is to speak ill of the dead. Can't argue with facts, though you oft do. Tony didn't say that, though, did he? No. You did. It seems you like to use the dead to suit your own agenda. Charming. explanation for the idiot, have you got your pointy reading finger at the ready? T o n y s a i d h i s s t y l e i s n ' t r a d i c a l l y d i f f e r e n t. I t i s p a t e n t l y s o. Arthur, make yourself useful, write it on a note , peg it to the end of your trombone , stand 3ft from the fox and play him a tune. That'll help it sink in, the notes and the note battering him round the ears.

I didn't know IanD played a trombone. The other Arthur on canalworld apparently does though.

Tony said: "It never fails to amuse me when stupid self-opinionated people who neither know me, nor knew Nigel Moore, other than remotely through the pages of CWDF or Thunderboat, or perhaps via the odd brief chance meeting, make uninformed statements as to their flawed perception of what they mistakenly see as a radically different approach to dealing with the C&RT's wrongdoings." He did not say his style is radically different to that of Nigel Moore's, but meant radically different from the likes of you who doff their cap to their perceived masters. The way I read it is that both Nigel and Tony have fought CRT in efforts to help the 'boating community' out, rather than just laying down and accepting abuse and corruption. Nice of you to now go round digging up dead people to support your drivel. I suppose that's what you call 'respect'.

If you had a boat for ten years, paying an average of say £400 per year for a "rivers only license" the VAT would amount to £800. £80 per year. (Dodgy math could be slightly wrong)
Some people might find that its not really worth getting into a legal battle over such a small sum.
The famous case that Nigel won resulted in backdated repayment of mooring fees for several boat owners at Brentford which was a LOT more than £80 p.a .
In his own words not everyone who was refunded welcomed the decision.
The moral is: do not assume that because you find something to be unjust others will feel the same way.
Some might but a lot won't care.
Cue the TD "these idiots have exactly the navigation authority they deserve" line.
Yup.

I didn't know IanD played a trombone. The other Arthur on canalworld apparently does though. ah, wrong Arthur. I'll bet he'll lend it to our Arthur though, it's for effect not the tune. And you never know Arthur aka burco the old boiler might be more successful with it. Arthur the trombonist does apparently lurk. Perhaps as well he only lurks, we have enough blowing their own strumpets as it is.

I've got a Baby Burco clothes boiler with agitator and 2kw heating element.
Its brilliant. Stainless steel. 15 litres of water a bit of bio liquid it'll wash anything. The agitator really agitates nicely. Good bit of design.
Jeans going in it tomorrow actually. Mains electric on this boat which is a nice luxury.

Are you happy to be walking along the towpath in London and get mugged for £80 once a year? Mustn't grumble! It's only money, after all. Where does this end? £160/year? £320/year? £640/year? Foot-in-door thin-end-of-the-wedge give-an-inch-and-they'll-steal-your-children.

I don't think this is a common belief. If enough people (or one really determined person) wanted to perhaps they could get the VAT thing sorted out. However in the TD case the VAT is simply a red herring. A dead red herring in fact. Diversion and bluster is like a window. Transparent.
