I'd prefer all C&RT's money and efforts were put into the waterways rather than nonsense sighting searches.

You can't have too many such comments Vince ... go on ... you know you want to. I was just going to say there's no way C&RT would have missed any sightings on Jim with that roof box ... that and the Great Wall of China can be seen from space π Rog ETA Never understood asking for sightings history ... don't you know where you've been ? It can be a help knowing what day a data collector comes by. One can almost manage 3 weeks on a 14 day mooring. More than that possibly. Here's how CRT define 48 hour moorings. "A boat recorded on three consecutive days will be treated as having stayed for 48 hours". So if you knew the data checker's schedule and knew he arrived at mid-day every day, you could moor up at 12:01 on Monday, get spotted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and pull pins at 11:59 on Friday having been there on five consecutive days.

Why bother as the limited time moorings are just advisory.

Simply abide by the rules then Jim. Which "rule"? Which Act of Parliament approved it? According to some having a Home Mooring exempts one from the 14 days rule. Perhaps you are talking of the guidelines we apparently have to agree to before we can have a licence? When we are dumping it sometimes isn't possible for health reasons to get back to the boat "in time", so it's good to know how to milk the system without having to overly bother, getting a notice, ringing crt etc. for an extra couple of days. The moorings up north are hardly crowded anyway.

Almost as clever as my strategy of getting a BSS ticket which lasts for 5 yars by doing it after the renewal date of a Gold licence or Thames registration. These always default to the 1st of January so I was like 'yeah yeah yeah' and can keep the head uncluttered by BS nonsense for an extra 323 days. I'm in the wrong job.

I did actually have a meeting with a government advisor on careers not long ago. She was Really Good in a number i of different ways and asked me what my ideal job would be. Of course I said dictator of a small south american country. I suppose they get people saying things like 'JCB driver' and other things so I hope I made her day better.
Obviously due to the shockingly enormous amount of cash I am going to get IF it all works out on the legacy front I don't need a job.
Any dictator jobs or leader of nutcase cults, religious sects or governments in trouble I'm all ears.
Please contact me tomorrow.
