Any thoughts from the collective? I am not in favour of the death penalty, mostly because if you later discover there was a miscarriage of justice, it is too late!
What is crazy about this story though is the hysteria surrounding the use of Nitrogen. "OMG, I am his preacher and I need to give him spiritual guidance as he passes. His mask might leak and then I might get poisoned by the nitrogen. This is so unfair".
EXCEPT THAT air already is 78% nitrogen. No-one seems to have pointed this out. Nitrogen is not poisonous. It is merely the absense of oxygen that kills. And without a build up of CO2 there would be no rapid breathing or feeling that you were suffocating. Your oxygen sats would just fall, you would feel a bit light headed, and then you would lapse into unconsciousness. As ways to die go, it is not a bad one and surely better than a lethal injection. I don't like injections.

They’ve had a lot of issues with the injections so I suppose they are trying nitrogen. I think Donald trump okayed more executions than any other president so maybe they are getting ready to be busy?

Wow...Im surprised! 😱🤷🏽♂️ Why? Most people don’t like injections. Especially when the injected material is going to kill you! Ive not had an injection since I was about 14 that hurt, altho admittedly and obviously Ive never had one thats going to kill me. I would of thought a big strong man like you would shirk injections off without any issues.! 🤷🏽♂️ |

This guy...there's no doubt he did it. The subject has said he wants to die.
A bullet in the back of the head. Quick. Painless. Cheap.
Mind you we might be oppressing his human rights.

Must be weird being the bloke right now, knowing you've got just over three hours left. Caryl Chessman, who was executed in the California gas chamber in 1960 famously said "I don't mind dying. I just don't like being told when".

It's a shitty situation all round. But the recently deceased, along with his mates before him, carried out the attack for nothing more than a few measly dollars.
To cite another case, Mr Adebolajo and his accomplice were counting on being shot dead, and were no doubt left disappointed. Now he's being housed for life at significant cost. Given the low possibility that the wrong man has been arrested, might the best outcome be to help him achieve his heart's desire?
