It seems labour have become the party of u turns. Despite initially standing behind there candidate for rochdale they have now withdrawn their support. But it seems it’s too late to enter a new candidate.

Apparently it's the 27th u turn.
To be fair to Labour, they have done the right thing. If I said to someone 'your wife deserves to be raped' and followed it up with 'what I said was terrible' it would not excuse what I said, in any way. The guy obviously believed what he said then, in the manner of the coward that he obviously is, backtracked, in order to try to save his job.
Labour still, very obviously, has a problem with antisemitism.

He was also the leader of the Labour group on Lancashire County Council.
I presume this means Labour aren’t going to continue to have him lead their representation in Lancashire?👎

I see that more anti-semite comments came to light forcing the U turn!🙄 www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68280098I presume Ali suddenly decided to be a Jewish conspiracy theorist, the shadow cabinet come out to defend him, then they realise that wasn’t working and removed him from the party for something else he said, as if his initial comment wasn't enough.🙄 What a bunch of shameless, greedy, power mad fools they are.🙄 Another fantastic example of stunning leadership from Sir Kneelalot! 😂😂

My understanding is that Labour have withdrawn their support for him, whatever that means. He remains a member of the Labour party. Corbyn was ousted for far less. Strange.

Lol…even the Guardian think he's a twat! 😂😂 www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/feb/13/sex-rochdale-azhar-ali-george-galloway-simon-danczuk‘Perhaps Starmer should have treated the Azhar Ali problem as a simulated training exercise for the constant vagaries of government. Taking at least 36 hours to call it (and probably 48, given when the Mail on Sunday would have gone to him for a comment) is a hard fail. This was not a tricky choice. The branches of this particular decision tree were not a vast and densely woven thicket through which Sir Keir needed exceptional knightly skill to slash. It was basically a three-step flow chart. 1. “Did the candidate say something wholly unacceptable?” YES…. leading to …. 2. “Is it fine for would-be MPs to say wholly unacceptable things if they think they’re true just because they read them on Facebook”?..NO…leading to … 3. Bin off the candidate.’ Quality kick in Sir kneelalot’s bollocks there! 😂😂😂

It's become trendy to be anti-Semitic since the Gaza war erupted. And if Israel assaults Rafah then...wow.
It reminds me of a description of harvest time in the old days; a field of wheat gradually reduced to a small patch in the middle where all the beasties had retreated to. Then much fun was had. Apparently a highlight of the day.
If you are in public office and you say 'jew' you're done. Even 'Israeli' is dodgy ground dependent on the other words in the sentence.
Don't see Israel as likely to do well at Eurovision this year.

Don't see Israel as likely to do well at Eurovision this year. As I understand it. It’s possible to be anti Israel. But not antisemetic. I have nothing at all against the Jewish faith. But the way that the state of Israel has treated the Palestinians is disgusting and definately a crime against humanity. But it seems the state of Israel has done a briliant job of conflating the two. Don’t dare criticise Israel or else your an anti semetic nazi.

Seems that's only strictly true if you are a Labour party member. Still, it's not all bad. After all it did for Dianne Abbott. 😀

I think it will be some time after they win the general election that Labour start to show their true colours. They may tolerate binning everything they believe in to win an election but much beyond that, no chance.

Latest poll showing Labour lead down to 12% 😩 Defeat from the jaws of victory anyone? 😂 Can't see it, it's in the bag for Labour. It will all start to unravel for them though, within 12 months of gaining power. Zero chance of a second term.
