Despite desperate claims to the contrary by right wing inactivists, police find no evidence of misdeeds by Angela Rayner. So the right wing activists are wrong, yet again. Your time would be better spent criticising your mates, obviously.
Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner will not face a police investigation over claims she gave false information on official documents.
The MP had denied any wrongdoing relating to where she was registered as living after her marriage in 2010.
Tory MP James Daly asked Greater Manchester Police to investigate whether she had given false information or had broken electoral rules.
Police have found no evidence that any offence had been committed.
The complaint followed claims made in a book by Lord Ashcroft, a former Conservative Party deputy chairman, about Ms Rayner's ex-council house on Vicarage Road in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
This should not really be a police matter, at this time. There are allegations that Angela Rayner lived at an address other than the property that she owned, for a number of years. She confirmed this herself, in writing. Furthermore, there are allegations that there was a tenant present at the property of Anglela Rayner. Again, for a number of years. The alleged tenant stated this himself, in a dispute with a neighbour.
Angela Rayner disposed of the property for a profit. She declared no rental income, nor made a return for capital gains tax. When challenged regarding this her reply included 'it's my only property, there was no capital gains tax due'. Now, Ms. Rayner may not be aware, but the dispensation regarding capital gains tax is very specific. If you sell a home that's your main residence, it's exempt from capital gains tax. A home that's the only home you own, but one you don't live in, isn't exempt from capital gains tax.
Allegations remain that Angela Rayner evaded both income tax throughout the period of the alleged lease, and capital gains tax on disposal.
It was a surprise to me that the matter was referred to the police. The normal course of events would be for an HMRC investigation to take place. Following such an investigation, should misdeclarations be uncovered, HMRC would likely issue the perpetrator with an invoice for the unpaid tax, plus hefty penalty charges. A decision would also be made whether it was in the public interest to proceed with a criminal prosecution.
The police of course, would be unable to find Angela Rayner 'not guilty' of such allegations, as they lack the expertise and systems required for a proper investigation.
The time police investigations take has a miraculous way of adapting to the required result and often vary depending on the political colour of the Crime and Police Commissioner. The Metropolitan Police took well over 12 months to decide that Partygate needed to be prosecuted; A drunken gathering in Hartlepool was absolved within 10 days, despite there being film of the shenanigans dismissed as a working meeting. The Metropolitan Police found no case to answer for Professor Ferguson's self confessed dalliances during lockdown, and he was partly responsible for the introduction of it. Jeremy Corbyn was not brought to book over his dinner parties despite photographic evidence. Draw your own conclusions. it is interesting to see how the politically charged prosecutions against Donald Trump only suceed in increasing his support. Watch Boris in the next few months.

That just shows police are impartial. It wouldn't do to pander to old tories, would it? Perhaps try bribery? Or switch to an ethical party.

No, it just shows that the police are inconsistent and some decisions are not made on the same analysis of the facts, or are maybe manipulated by outside sources. Going back to the first Palestine march, when a 100 or so English Patriots turned up, they were immediately met by full kitted out riot police and kettled in a pub. At the same time, anti semitic chanting, posters and unrulyness were not policed at all. And when the individuals identified by the press forced their hand in relation to the 3 women with paraglider posters were brought to court what should have been a jail sentence and possible deportation, they were tapped lightly on the wrist by a judge who had 'liked' an inflammatory post on social media.
Saint Keir was never going to be anything other than a sacrificial lamb. He will have served his purpose, following his election victory, and swiftly disposed of.
Labour of course, will only serve one term and then be consigned to the rubbish bin of politics for a further extended period. Until the next martyr comes along, Labour being so desperate for power that they will once again hand over the reins to someone with policy ideas that Labour find repulsive. Still, it's all about being elected, for Labour.
And so it will go on.

Perhaps it's best you aren't a judge then. Though maybe if you had studied law you would have a better impartial view of the situation.

Strange there's no mention of Momentum in the article and statement by Innocent Angela. Could it be you are making things up for effect again? Losing does make people behave in strange ways.
