Latest from CRT email
We can all be forgiven for sheltering inside as much as possible before spring rears its head. There is an alternative though - our canals are open every day of the year, 24 hours a day, and are free to use.

Which in itself is ridiculous because there are numerous stoppages here and there which means the actual canal is not usable. Well I suppose it is by a canoe.
Was this email sent to canoers?

Same strategy as museums who have a sign saying "give us a fiver to keep this museum free to use"
Err. In what way would it be free if I pay a fiver or do they mean "pay us so other people can choose not to"

It's a little bit more cynical than that. It's more like "look at what we give you free.arent we a good charity"
