Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia: "The Crosland filter brand name has been purchased by Euro Car Parts. The filters being sold in Crosland boxes are sourced by EuroCarParts, but as of yet I have not read anything regarding their quality. One thing is certain: Crosland filters are no longer made by the original Crosland UK. Note their now rather generic website which makes much of the fact that the filters have a 'proud heritage'. However this means little if we don't know at present who makes them." Indeed it does, here we are: croslandfilters.com/So... just what is this 'proud heritage'? Sounds like a con to me, selling filters on the 'Crosland' reputation en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro_Car_Partswhen they are nothing of the sort. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro_Car_PartsIn 2014 Mr Singh re-joined the company being elected onto the Board of Directors of the LKQ Corporation. www.lkqcorp.com/en-us/In the 2013 Sunday Times motoring Rich List, Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia was listed as the 277th richest person in Britain with an estimated fortune of £300m. "Have you come far?" "Wanna buy a Crosland good quality filter, Granny?"

I don't think it is sludged but does need changing. He's better than me if he can see that on the internet. Change it, have a beer life goes on. Those perky's are incredible strong and will suffer a fair amount of neglect without batting an eyelid. If you have good oil pressure you won't have an issue. Don't tip any flush additives or flushing oil in it though. Oil pressure is ok although the meter dors flick up and down a bit (its an electric analog gauge not a bourdon type). It flicks quickly so I think its an instrument problem not the oil pressure. I do need to change it though. I'm intrigued about the filter. I'll post a picture of the casing and see if anyone knows if its a washable type or element. Obviously when I do the oil change I will change or clean filter but could cause a problem if I don't know what the filter is Will start new thread later. Thanks for the tip about flushing - I suspect that can do more harm than good !

Bit of a scam really but never mind after a while the IP rights lapse if not kept up to date then someone else can use the name. Good money spinner I expect.

"Euro car parts ,many parts are FAKE !! i worked for them .. SHIT parts are sold all day"
"And yet Euro Car Parts still pays minimum wage, no overtime rate and no night rate. If the workers complain they get sacked and replaced by overseas labor. Shame on you Euro Car Parts, and shame on you Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia for still letting it happen."

But it's still a CON. Making 'British Asians' look bad.
Hurry up with your oil change (and photos!) - it's an oil change on an engine, not heart surgery on a crocodile.

Will update and post oil filter picture when I have calmed down.

What amazes me but does not surprise me, is that this bloke has £300 million quid yet there are 276 people in Britain with more. I am probably in the wrong job. £300 would make me happy at the moment.

I'd like to know more about how he treats his workforce. Probably doesn't give the remotest shit about them! Fairly obviously just another greedy scum businessman who is only interested in his own welfare and happy to screw people over just to inflate his own "worth". Loads of them about and they make plenty of money. Not quite sure what they need it for but it takes all sorts to make a race.

You are wrong most of the workforce at eurocarparts seem very happy in the 3 branches I have traded with, lots have been with them for many years and for me the prices are very competitive. I have even been offered a part time job with them didnt take it as I dont need the money but would if I did. Now clearly the Indian gentleman is a sharp and very successful businessman whats the problem with that? clearly with some on here it is, but again whose fault is that. For me he is here pays his taxes and keeps this country running and yes a lot of his parts he sells are made in this country so its not all bad.

It's nice to have peterboat's angle to balance things, this is what a discussion is all about. We have to analyse the details. And make our own minds up. But I shan't be buying any Crosland filters.

"Seem very happy" could just be a result of training and fear of losing their jobs if they don't smile at the customers. I know nothing about it but I would not be surprised if large organisations like this put random undercover shoppers in to test staff.

And there is a clear difference between successful business and bleeding people.

Been thinking about the "rant" thing, I'm more of a "look" person, I can stop a stampeding elephant at 30 paces with a look. Strangely, it doesn't translate into text. Shame really.
