Small gas torch, melt it, and bend it out. Or a hot poker from the fire. Good call. I have a 240v paint stripper that will do it.

A grinder is great for steel, thin ply, you name it but things it melts through - well I have muchos experience in windier climes and that ends up with a boat full of molten plastic fumes which is detrimental to ones health and sensibilities.

Stainless steel slitting disc so thin it can have your finger off in seconds and plastic fibreglass etc no probs no smoke

I sent 8 solid years mostly chopping things with 1mm ss discs, honest. There isn't much I haven't chopped.

Maybe cut several holes in it with a holesaw without a pilot drill. Would jump around but might work. If all the holes were joined up across the base it might be possible to lever it up a bit then soften the sides with the heat gun then fold the thing up somehow.

So when r we gonna see pics?.....please thankee very muchly.... Planning stage while I update some lighting. Four of these chunkers with hated bayonet to LED adapters in the kitchen ... To these. Plates are rather large to cover the dirty great holes under two of them. Two down two to go...

Plates are rather large to cover the dirty great holes under two of them. Two down two to go... Looks like a good improvement. I don't get on with lights which stick down but thats mainly due to being 6ft2.5in tall they tend to collide with my head on a lot of boats. I like the mirror plate to covet the hole - very nice ! Is that plastic or metal?

Is that plastic or metal? It's 1.2mm polished stainless from eBay, available in handy sizes. They cocked up and sent 2mm brushed first but luckily didn't want it back so I now have a handy stash of stainless plate too. Happy days.

Back to the plastic container, one thing leading to another and already tripping over laminate floor for that area I'm pulling up the old stuff. Who knows? Maybe some ply will come up and I can simply lift it out.

I've got some similar bits where I have replaced some ceiling lamps with little Eagle eye LED lights as they are super economical on elastictrickery. I wonder if they do round discs of that polished stainless. that would be excellent.
