Why what happens if you polish with diesel?........................... If you had ever landed on your backside on a wet fuel forecourt after slipping on a nice mix of water and old diesel you wouldn't need to ask....same as if you rode a motorcycle around a wet roundabout which has had diesel spilt on the road surface. Ive done the former and had a work colleague do the latter, he was off work for months with a broken leg. Thankfully I only hurt my pride (and backside). I destroyed 25 yards of crash barrier and hit a car going the other way on a dual carriageway because of diesel!! Also watched a copper slip and go onto his backside because of the same diesel!! saved me getting into trouble though as he knew the cause of the crash

I did a complete 360 on that busy roundabout at the top of the A34 once, neatly changing lanes in the same move. By pure luck I missed everything, ended up pointing the right way in the middle of a lane and carried on as if nothing had happened. Very strange as the cars in front and behind didn't slip on it.

Ah...no never slipped on diesel... thank you It's often mixed with water and used on 'skid pans' for skid correction training. Or if you just fancy a bit of a laugh.

Sprinkle loads of children's playpit sand as you paint your whales, it's supposed to be 'clean' and salt-free.

Sorry but we use gloss paint with no anti slip. As long as you are aware that there is no anti slip, it's not a problem. I'd quite like the black gunnels, but Jane likes them gloss, same colour as the cabin. So we compromise......and do what she wants. My Mum had ugly kids not stupid ones Rog
