Any recommendations for the best thing to use for painting gunwhales, e.g. satin or gloss black, any recommended brand etc?

Last year I did mine with Andy Russell's gunwhale black. It went on well with a small roller and looks good. Only time will tell how well it lasts. It wasn't cheap. I'll be interested to see other replies. Phil

As to the OP.
What is on them now?
You need grippy ideally on the gunwales so I would avoid anything 'gloss'.

I can't even remember that, have you got a link to the post in question? I didn't capitalise "Spelling", I wrote "Spelling Police" with both words capitalised, to suggest some type of self-appointed unofficial internet authority.

I can find it if you really want me to but not whilst on my iPad. I found the last post you wanted me to find to prove what I was saying was correct so leave it with me.

No, please don't trouble yourself, I'm sure you have far better things to do. Caravans don't polish themselves.

I am surprised you didnt advise polishing with diesel as well...................................... Why what happens if you polish with diesel?........................... If you had ever landed on your backside on a wet fuel forecourt after slipping on a nice mix of water and old diesel you wouldn't need to ask....same as if you rode a motorcycle around a wet roundabout which has had diesel spilt on the road surface. Ive done the former and had a work colleague do the latter, he was off work for months with a broken leg. Thankfully I only hurt my pride (and backside).
