WE have them in Canada too. We got back from viewing a local waterfall and there was one sitting on the windowsill psyching out the dog who was on duty waiting for us.

But aren't yours grey squirrels, bigger without tufty ears? The American grey squirrel is regarded as an alien pest in the UK, as it has largely ousted the native reds, not least by carrying squirrel pox to which they are immune, but the reds are not. We have both round here on the border of Scotland and England.

Nope, ours are definitely red, not grey, in fact I have yet to see a grey squirrel, maybe they are just an American import. As an Englishman I am aware of the difference. We also have issues with chipmunks, but that is a different story.
