I have been thinking sometimes of what the first Thunderboat posts are/were. It seems things began around 3rd April? Having clicked back to find the first comments I don't think I've missed anything, but this is an odd site, I keep being surprised by finding threads that I hadn't noticed before. Just curious - what was the first comment? I found out about this place as someone from Canalworld PM'd me with the link.

And I was first to join, I believe, 10 minutes before Kris. But he posted immediately. I just stood and watched what would happen.

We must have all been reading the thread on the other channel when it was being discussed, I just thought someone needed to kick it off.

I think the first threads were my responsibility, you felt you were talking to yourself, it was so quiet.People kept going back to the other channel to see the reaction which made it worse.

So - April 2nd. Made a note of that. My new job/route started April 1st, so it was a sudden change all round. I had wondered if there was a lot of stuff before I joined but it looks like not really.

My Laptop was at the shop waiting fora new screen to be fitted (with a delay while the shop and Hewlet Packard argued about who paid.
When I stopped bring able to read the posts WW III was in full cry on CWDF and when I got back on line the world had changed.

Morning John,do you think CWDF will stick with this ultra moderation,I suspect it's just a phase

It's a bit dull on CWDF at the moment, I couldn't even be arsed to get involved in my pet subject of DIY welding, i usually step in to correct the guff folks who don't know what they are on about post. Looked at it and thought fuck it, life's too short to waste my time putting this lot right.
Things seem to be settling down OK on here, I was sceptical initially, having declared I won't post much but I'm finding I am enjoying it way more than I thought I would.

Yes, Gazza is right CWDF is a bit tame at the moment and stupid moderation still continues with mods stepping in saying " OK this had gone on quite long enough" even though the thread has been good natured and benign. I haven't posted here much as yet but I'm sure that will change. Phil

Morning John,do you think CWDF will stick with this ultra moderation,I suspect it's just a phase I am not so sure, lets be honest the only one that has to be happy for it to continue indefinitely, is Dan. It does seem that many are happy with the new regime but as far as I am concerned it has lost it's "fizz". Incidentally I have not been posting much due to a) having too much to do to have time and b) still having major grief with the signal. I seem to be only able to get on line early in the morning or very late at night, so I have a feeling it's lack of capacity locally. During the day it is very slow but at the sort of peak times in early evening it is so slow as to be impossible. Still looking for alternatives but at the moment I've too much on my plate to put much effort into it.

I was just listening to Today on Radio 4 a moment ago the topic was Osbourne and this Northern Powerhouse Guff, the live interview came from Oldham which 100 years ago had more millionaires than anywhere on earth.British Aerospace at one time employed 10000 people there whereas today a major employer would be no more than 200 people and Oldham?its now one of the most deprived areas in Britain
