Spawn of the devil, who invented this stuff? I don't have much luck connecting my 38mm water filler pipe to the barbed tank fitting. It leaks a drip a second. I've convinced myself the spiral wire reinforcement is to blame, has anyone else had problems? The fitting is in the side of the tank so if I fill up I then have to run 6" off to stop it leaking.

I haven't used it but when I installed my sea toilet (I know it a different thing but you don't want any leaks) I used silicone hose and some wet exhaust pipe both of which sealed nicely using T bolt clamps.
What pipe clamps are you using? Jubilee clips may not be able to provide enough pressure for a reinforced hose.
Filler in side of tank seems a bit naff. I'd be temped to put a silicone elbow on the filler with a nylon coupling then extend that vertically with more silicone tubing. All clamped tight with stainless T bolt clamps. Assuming the actual filler is mounted flat.

It takes too longer a loop up to the filler to use an elbow. It's a proper bolt type pipe clamp. Can't see any damage on the barbs. I think I'll get a new fitting anyway and some of that clear nylon reinforced smooth pipe but so far I can't find anyone who supplies both (to save on postage).

I thought sillicon pipe might be dodgy for drinking water but I see it's exactly the opposite so might go for that. 👍

I'm more inclined to replace the hose TBH, it looks like the stuff for irrigating fields rather than stuff for drinking water, it's old, it leaks... I could see PO had tried a few things, the pipe in it's previous location (I moved tank and filler) had leaked from both ends.
