A while back we discussed oil filters, Foxy buys the Bukh boxed ones, sofa so good. I mentioned any good quality OEM filter is acceptable to use but steer clear of the Eurocarparts Crosland filters as they are shite. Here is the evidence for my claim... This is a Perkins 3.152 powered electropak genset. I'm not part of the clique that looks after the gennys so don't stick my ore in. I wouldn't have fitted this filter in the first place, and as ever it's false economy to use a cheap inferior part. The filter has collapsed - most likely cause is a failed bypass valve. Luckily it was spotted before the old girl dumped a sump full of oil in the floor. A couple of quid saved on the filter could have proved very costly indeed. ECP - stick your crappy Crosland oil filters where the sun don't shine Tomorrow I will be digging a Fram filter out of the dusty vaults of my plant store and getting the old girl running again!

Afaik Crosland was once a reputable manufacturer but went out of business then someone picked the name up (copyright expiry?) and used the reputation as a way to get away with poor quality equipment.
I think this has also happened with marine engines.

Nearly, the murky goings on of business. www.catmag.co.uk/sogefi-distances-itself-from-filter-brand-sold-to-ecpthat lovely chap that owns ECP is trading on Croslands once good name.

Crosland filters supplied by a slimy Indian. I have said, but nobody listens! Charles likes this. It's not even any good for starting a fire like Pete does with paper element filters. I suppose it's only use now is launching at the nearest cat or ECP executive.

Nowt wrong with Mahle, they make reasonable pistons so should manage an oil filter OK I thought the only things that came out of Morocco was tiles, tagines and the Chergui that sand is carried on.
