Gas cookers do produce a bit of CO. A hot flame playing on a cooler saucepan, for example, results in some CO. This is one reason why cookers should not be used as space heaters, and CO Alarms shouldn’t be adjacent. So it’s just a matter of degree. If the CO alarm is being activate when it’s not close to the cooker, that is too much CO. As suggested, too much CO is because there isn’t enough combustion air, quite possibly blocked air jets. It’s hard to see the grill flame colour, is it all blue or is there some orange? The alarm (2, I borrowed another fron my other boat) are 8-10ft from the cooker at hob height, both read approximately the same. The grill flame is blue, the red bit is the thermocouple doo-dat. The biggest hob burner seems better after a clean out. I now think the grill is the main culprit, I'll dismantle it at some point soonish. I just made beans on toast and a cup of tea, readings were mid 20's. Same alarm on previous boat doesn't detect anything even with the oven and all the burners going but it was under powered shiny Smev rubbish. This cooker I think was designed to look good mainly. I say that as it has a fan to keep the knobs cool. Afterthought or what! A proper cooker designer would have designed that problem out in the early stages.

I'd have that grill out and give it a bit of a service. Maybe some fat deposits, so also give a good scrub. Toasters are getting better as far as power usage goes. We never use the grill, preferring to use the toaster with the engine running for a bit.

It's on my list, it doesn't look like a five minute job though and Yes it might be easier just to get a toaster as toast is all we use it for.

The title of this thread is CO from cooker. It's a strange co-incidence that cooker begins with co. Spooky.
