I am currently moored in the Giffard Park area and if anyone is en route to the area,it is completely empty between the pub and the Black Horse further north. A friend who moved off for Yardley Gobion yesterday was telling me that he was parking his small MG in Boulters Lock the lane of which abuts the canal,he went to the car yesterday and found a note attached to the windscreen. The attached note was headed CRT all official looking and advised him to park elsewhere and mentioned the local centre car park as being both free to use and nearby, My friend saw a householder mowing the lawn adjacent to where the car was parked and asked if the car was in the way,the gentleman replied not at all and advised him to continue to park there. In my opinion a householder has knocked these up on a printer, another boater had the same happen to her and I know from the past there have been issues in the area with one householder in particular, the worry is of course that if you ignore the letter then you could perhaps find your car vandalised.

Find householder (stake out the lane). Knock up official-looking Department of Inland Revenue letter with outrageous content, and pop into their letterbox. Continue to park in lane.
