www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-36520198A bridge built in the 14th Century has reopened after it was hidden from view for more than a century.
The crossing in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, was concreted over in 1904 when the tram network expanded.

Rochdale is the biggest shithole I've been to, which is a shame, as it must have been an impressive place at the height of its industrial importance. No doubt it was not an easy place to live then. I'm sure I read somewhere it's one of the most deprived areas in England? The 60's onwards se seem to have ruined it.

Rochdale is the biggest shithole I've been to Yes, it amazes me that when you drive through Rochdale at night, every single shop has got the roller shutters down, even the charity shops.

We stayed in the spread eagle hotel right in the town centre while working there in 2000, it was an utter dump! Next time we were there we stayed in a pub on the main road from Heywood to Rochdale - the name escapes me, was slightly less of a dump, it sticks in my mind as my mate knocked over a bloke in a cheap C&A wool suite who foolishly crossed in front of us as we were turning left onto the busy main road out of the pub car park. My mate was looking for a gap from the right, pedestrian entered stage left........ I remember the bang, some swearing and a bloke disappearing off into the gloom covered in road dirt. He was late for work, hadn't broken anything and didn't seem too bothered about being a bonnet mascot on a Vauxhall Vectra I'd got a hangover from hell and was not looking forward to a days work, ripping the piss at my mate all day made it more bareable.

A bridge from the 1300s. That will fit in nicely with Rochdale's 'incomers'.
