I didn't spot the Thetford anywhere. No shower. I suppose you could get by with a Camping Gaz cooker, Camping Gaz lantern, and some bottled water. Poo on the towpath, put it in little black plastic bags and pop it in the dog poo bins. I think it looks like fun.

I like caraboats.
However a design which involves having a trailer submerged is not ideal. I guess the idea was that the boats would spend the vast majority of time out of water with a keen owner keeping everything maintained on their driveway. Then it could work as a part time boat but once the thing ends up sitting in water unused the trailer falls apart.

I was thinking about this too, this morning... perhaps a more sensible thing would be to have a 5m long fibreglass boat with a 20hp engine (or less power for canals), drive along the canal, go home and pick up car + trailer and winch the boat out of the water straight onto the trailer. Seems daft having a boat dragging a set of wheels along below the waterline. |

The clue is in the name It would be quite awkward to use a normally designed boat as a caravan. Usually the action of winching a boat onto the trailer makes getting on a normal type of boat very awkward. And the wheels under water is not a big problem if 2 things happen 1. It is primarily used as a CARAvan with occasional uses as a Boat. 2. It is owned by the type of person who likes taking apart and cleaning and/or replacing things (bearings) If those two conditions are not met its a pile of shite but if they are I think it could prove quite a useful and enjoyable piece of equipment. |

I can't really understand where the "housing" angle comes from since the owner hasn't presented it as anything other than the restoration of a caraboat. Presumably Brizzle Live has the same fixation with property as the Daily Mail and can't resist inserting its fixation into articles, whether it has any place in the story or not.

I watched the programme and was amazed by his lack of boat knowledge, he used bog standard standard silicon to seal bolts etc on the chassis and I thought " that's not going to last long" I personally would not set foot on it
