A boat trailer is at least as sturdy as a caravan chassis, having had both. A dedicated trailer, with supports in the right place, as I'd expect of a caracruiser, should be no problem at all. I did wonder about getting one, but I'll bet they are quite a weight, need a bigger towcar. I'm glad I got the narrowboat. So what has happened is the trailers have fallen into disrepair because the boat has been left in the water) and gradually boat and trailer drift away from each other so it is probably impossible to find a CaraCruiser with the original trailer which as you say must have had some sort of supports to hold up the Cara part of the Boat.
