'Afternoon folks,
BEFORE I get totally bogged down in "government gateway" thingy, can I just ask you folks what a self employed NI monthly payment is please? - I seem to think from something I read, it's about 20 quid or so and paying this, continues to earn pension rights?
Any help appreciated.
Mark.

Thanks - Why couldn't I find that with my search? .... grrr... so it looks like "small" profits are the order of the day then ;-)
As an employee - at the moment I'm paying circa 300 quid a month, whereas, a "newly self employed", it'll only cost me £12.13 for the SAME state pension rights - go figure

Whether you are self-employed, a sole trader or operating as a Limited Company, the idea is to show the minimum profit you- or your accountant- are LEGALLY able to do.
I would never ever recommend fiddling your taxes, HMRC are formidable opponents, but there is a world of opportunity available to anybody not on PAYE.
