How dreadful...your son and husband go out for a day together and don't return..its not as if they were involved in a dangerous sport.

Yes, very sad for both to drown, I wonder how it happened? Possibly got the magnet stuck on the lock and one jumped in to retrieve it, got into difficulty and the other went in to help?
It's all I can think of, you'd have thought magnet fishing to be a low risk activity.

I do think we can all get a bit blasé about the dangers of messing about around and on water. Familiarity breeds contempt on occasion. A tragedy no doubt, a devastating loss for the family.

We were there last year lovely area for the most part we were dragging our bum on the bottom! hard to imagine a safer pastime than magnet fishing such a waste of life RIP the pair of them

That seems very odd.
Obviously tying thw rope to yourself is dangerous perhaps the dad did that pulled himself in kid goes in after him both perish.
Strange story.
