We moored at Oughtrington and strolled into the May Queen Field site for much of the days events. £5 entry fee and a jolly fine day out too. Worth a visit for future reference, but no mooring in Lymm town. The town moorings were full of historic boats including the fuel boat Ambush. Just to prove kris isn't a figment of Nick's imagination, the old guy on Ambush (is it Arthur?) said kris is a "good bloke" and was also very complimentary of A41. We had a low level Spitfire fly past; a brilliant stunt cycle display; loads of vintage cars and bikes; some steam engines around town; live music, and various food stalls. Very busy with the weather being so good. A jolly good day for a fiver. I've sent some random photos to our (very kind) Stumpy, hoping he'll post them here when convenient. I even got some bike photos especially for andy berg and gazza, but I don't know if they're the right type Rog

Like the old Triumph, I had 2, first a 1959 thunderbird, then an ex police Saint, 1970 with fairing and panniers, tweaked with a high lift cam, high compression pistons and a twin carb bonneville head. Broooom brooom.

Posted on behalf of Sir Rog Can I just strongly recommend that folk do not stand in front of one of these things while it is in motion?

Have to say, despite having no real mechanical inclinations, the work and effort that has gone into restoring and maintaining many of the vehicles on display is extraordinary. The steam engines are my favourites. As each year goes by it's a little unsettling to see cars I have owned (and not my first vehicles) as museum pieces Rog
