Manny years ago a young lady came to live on her boat in a local town, she used to have a generator in a hole in the towpath covered by a board to provide her power. Later she and her husband ran a boatyard in the same town, she now lives in the house next to where the boatyard used to be. Bridgewater boats.

Unbelievable this place. I've now just had a bloke come out and accuse me dog of shitting on his garden path. Firstly, if my dog had shit that pile, he'd be at the vets, it's only a fuckin Shi Tzu, this pile of shit would have killed him. These people are fuckin head cases. <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.180000000000064px; height: 3.6599999999999966px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_50445355" scrolling="no" width="22.180000000000064" height="3.6599999999999966"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.18px; height: 3.66px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1050px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_70822409" scrolling="no" width="22.180000000000064" height="3.6599999999999966"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.18px; height: 3.66px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 123px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_4154583" scrolling="no" width="22.180000000000064" height="3.6599999999999966"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 22.18px; height: 3.66px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1050px; top: 123px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_61775037" scrolling="no" width="22.180000000000064" height="3.6599999999999966"></iframe> They sure know how to make you feel welcome there
Peter.
Berko has always had that reputation - good luck to anyone who wishes to change it.
I used to work out of an office there and for two weeks a year we had a 'works van'. Five of us drove it for 2 days each, the competition was always about how many complaints we could get by driving it slowly around the towns roads whilst onroute to a more 'productive' area! The van was a TV Licence detector van - some of the residents thought we were lowering the tone of the town!

Shame about the missus.

Shame about the missus. Back in the early 80s we hired one of their boats. ‘Rum Tum Tugger’ (if I recall correctly). It was part of a 10 week group cruise around the country. We did Skipton to Kegworth in one week taking in the tidal Trent (Aegir included) from Keadby. The group who took over from us were a bit pissed off with what we had left them. My crew were even more pissed off... I digress...

I think I'll print them up in case we have any busy-bodies clamber aboard our 'ship'. Commander Witchy and Commander Foxy will tie them to the hot chimney and give them 50 lashes with that piece of electrical cable I have left over from doing the new kitchen lamp. Whilst empathetic with the sentiment, I suspect that that would be construing the legislation a little too liberally.

Anyway, why are you called Hemel? Because I was born in Hemel Hempstead. Well it's a good job you weren't born in Berkhamsted!
