I expect they are speeding because they are desperate to get past the smell of your bog. Anyway, what is this all about? I've met you and you seemed decent enough, I've met Nick and he seemed decent enough. I'm sure you wouldn't talk to each other like this if you met each other so what's with all the "Billy Big Bollocks" keyboard hero stuff? I would be quite happy to be nice to Kris if I met him in person. Well not nice exactly, just my normal self. Unfortunately I really don’t think the reverse is true. Although I do have a strategy to seek out Kris and engage him in polite conversation without revealing my identity. Then, right at the end, reveal who I am and see how quickly he can switch on the hate! Kris is a very decent person, passionate about his boat, and boating in general. I suspect he views the internet in general, and Thunderboat in particular as some kind of modern version of Space Invaders, where the object of the exercise is to shoot down the enemy.

Yes I suspect you are right. But at some point one has to realise that one is interacting with real people!

After another admiring look on John's photos, I recognised the narrowboat on the left, which is the "Naughty Lass" that belongs to a well known youtube vlogger Robbie Cumming. Peter.

Robbie is a really pleasant person that I enjoyed mooring next to in Leeds, I haven't watched all his videos but enjoyed the ones I have.

Well we are still pressing on with Plan b, which is to go anti-clockwise around the Pennines to end up in Liverpool 20th Aug. Wot - up and down to Huddersfield, via Castleford to Leeds and Bingley and Burnley and Chorley? In 8 days??

Thanks for the tip.
Just watched a couple of episodes, and they're jolly good.
Didn't realise at the time, but the boat was moored above Office lock when we were there. Didn't see the man though.

Yes I suspect you are right. But at some point one has to realise that one is interacting with real people! I find this very ironic, as its Nick who treats people like play things that are there purely for his entertainment. He seems to have a very selective memory it must be to do with his age. Nick if you ever meet me you might be shocked, as I haven't said anything on here that I wouldn't say to your face. So if I think your a twat I'll tell you.

Two nights in Torksey on the pontoons (we can't go through the lock ..... we're too wide) then off up to Cromwell. Good run up the tidal section. timing was just about spot on, arriving at slack water. A break for a couple of hours at the moorings just above the lock (Peterboat discovered some logs which are now stacked on deck ) Up to Newark. Nice gentle pobble at tickover until just above the A1 bridge when in the centre of the river ..... we went aground. We reversed off, then full power to the opposite side, leaving this enormous whirlpool of swirling muddy water in front of some rather disgruntled looking fishermen Through Nether lock and moored up about 10 feet behind the Castle Barge for the night. Today we will attempt Town bridge and if we get through will head for Gunthorpe. ( and don't believe a word that Peterboat comes out with about assignations at Torksey ...... it's all a fabrication !!!)Piccies later !!!
