Of our summer sojourn onto the Great Ouse comes in just over two weeks time.
I've spoken to Paul at Salters Lode as to tide times weekend of the 4th August - quite an agreeable 10:45 start on the Saturday looks favorite, overnight stay booked at Fox Boats in March then it's back onto our river with a week to get home.
All is not lost though!
We have one final week pottering about up St Ives way - river level on the Old West dependent, no plans to go any further than Brampton Mill, we may not even escape St Ives.
Where the hell has the time gone?!

Get the feeling this is going to be one of those summers we look back on with fondness like 1976.
Enjoy what's left.

half glass empty kind of guy eh gazza... Nah, we've had a great time! Just struck me that it seemed like no time at all since we arrived and yet here I am organising our return trip. As Rog says, this will be remembered as a cracking summer!

Been a great summer, mrs froggy was moaning at the weekend about the heat, told her to think about all summers that have been crap and wet, enjoy it i say!
Kind of miss not having a cruise this year, not been further than the top of the Ashby and Rugby, but lots of work has been done on the boat and we are going to have a two weeker next year.
Bet it pisses it down all next year.

we had quite a heavy shower here (Cromwell lock) last night, it had been very sultry before that and it cooled it down nicely for sleeping ............ another sunny morning but some clouds.

If next yer is a wet one I will be screwed - the ELy Ouse is largely flood proof thanks to the Denver Sluice complex meaning plenty of cruising while all around is off limits, we will be staying on the Nene which is not at all flood proof....!

Bank Newton must be the most beautiful flight on the system.
