Any tips for which sealant to use. Tape or cartridge or both? Caravan roof light is leeking due to puddling and very poor sealant. Puddling sorted. Two piece plastic fitting, just needs cleaning, and new sealant placing then screwing back together.

well I'll be buggered. I removed our caravan window and resealed it.
but for the life of me I can't remember what I used. I think it was a standard exterior waterproof sealant.

TellyMackus or Keyslider are the men to help you with this.

I'd use a PU sealant. SikaFlex is the best known one. I personally use PU18 bought from eBay as its the same thing but cheaper.
Travis Perkins usually hold Sika flex EBT which is good shit.
If you do go that route you won't be getting the thing back off so its strictly for a permanent install not for something you may need to remove again.

Caravan you say, maybe go over the anal place and speak to martin the dog house man, he loves a caravan.
I would try a flamethrower, will cure any leak.

Not keen on sikaflex. It just isn’t that flexible after a few years! I would use butyl strip, seems to be the norm for caravans. Or there’s a newer thing called SMP tape. Caravans flex a lot when towing, you want something that remains flexible.

You are not in the van long though are you?
Does it have much of a resell value?
I would just cover it with shit loads of anything, who looks at caravans roofs when you buy one anyway.

Hopefully not long but could be a few months. Probably about 2k resale value, the van has no staining on the ceiling and the wood around the skylight is in good condition so would like to keep it that way. The tape seems the easiest solution to try - if that doesn't work I can see a 'try anything' bodge coming up.
