Well, whatever you find, always read the 'terrible' comments on tripadvisor.co.uk to give yourself an inkling. We went to the Dog and Doublet in Sandon last night and although it's down as a "good country inn" in Pearson's canal guide, we have been to much nicer Wetherspoons. Paying a lot can mean you just get a better class of salmonella. I always ignore the terrible posts on Tripadvisor, they are usually written by hard to please lunatics. Look at good to poor, they usually give a more objective view than the nutters that put excellent or terrible.

I always ignore the terrible posts on Tripadvisor They're the best ones. They are usually the ones that make me chuckle. Things like:- Travelodge Exeter M5 'I had a terrible night here, all we could hear was traffic from the motorway' No shit Sherlock!

Yes, I copied a One Star TripAdvisor review onto here a while ago about Crayford Greyhound Stadium which said "It's all right if you like greyhound racing I suppose".

When you say near, will you be driving or getting a taxi? What type of food, or any type of food to avoid? Coventry is not really known for top restaurants, city center is aimed at the student market, best to head out, maybe kenilworth or warwick way. Taxi Anything but Mexican (slop with cheese on top) All ideas gratefully received. it doesn't have to be too posh, just not studenty. 'Tother side suggested the Greyhound at Sutton Stop?

Greyhound is good food, advise you book plenty in advance though.
They had a sign up the last few weekends saying waiting time is 60 mins for food, with the sun brings lots of people there.

Damn I was planning on stopping in there on our Warwickshire ring jaunt, or do the crowds start thinning out by early Sept?

Depends what day you hit, weekends when the sun is shining and its rammed, in the week not so much.
