Lack of data and a sketchy signal meant I've not been able to post much.
Now we are back at Titchmarsh we have WI-FI!
So the return trip was delayed by a bit of human error with the Freemans raw water seacock, an enthusiastic early morning clean of the weed filter led to an oversight in reopening the damn valve.
mouse off from Denver to the rescue.
We doubled back just incase we were needed, thankfully the call came Dusty was cooling ok, meantime the dwarf was practising her steering, coming on a treat!
A near perfect crossing to Salters Lode just before high neap tide meant no dramas getting into the Middle Levels.
The dwarf on forward lookout duty approaching Outwell.
The most ridiculous boat on the Middle Levels, high speed planing petrol v8 on <3' <4mph ditch.
A pleasant night in Upwell at the Staithe and an ace pint in the recently reopened 5 bells was welcome relief to the heat of the day.
Away In the morning and we come across this old nail just on the outskirts of March.
Two boats down and dickhead and his potti mouth Mrs shoot out of there rusty piece of Shit 'SLOW DOWN!!' I can't I'm at tickover - proved by knocking it out of gear whilst we went past the aggressive arseholes. I felt much better about it when our harbour master told me they were shouted at to slow down by the same Knobhead as well - they have a seamaster 23, only difference was they were being towed by a narrow boat who didn't get shouted at!!
The weed infested unnavigable Levels heading North from around Angle Farm
The Germans are coming! Don't tell en Pike!
Whoever in the War Department thought the Old River Nene would be a strategic route for Hitler's invasion plans must have been nuts! At least the Brickworks are not far away!
NaughtyCal has no excuse not to do them Middle Levels in her motorised suppository.
After a completely normal slow and hot chug to Whittlesey and we are done for the day.
Fenland District Council are meaning business now.
Period of grace is over from the 1st August.
A pleasant quiet night at the back of the Leisure centre and then Up the next morning and a short run to Stanground.
Weed boats at rest in the early morning sun
