Jaw-dropping activity happening this week in the Principality. I'm lost for words.

I really want to know why the tables were getting damaged. I suppose it could be related to the base of the legs, which would be soiled by random dust and dirt from the floor, scratching the surface when one table is lifted over the other.
The solution would be to slot them all together lying down then pull them upright with a block and taykle.
More information needed.

Yes I think there is more to this than meets the eye... a most unsatisfactory news article.. it could have been malicious damage ...

If they were like some hall tables that I have used/stacked in the past, stacking them safely, without marking the tops is not easy. If the legs hinge and expose metalwork, then them bottom to the top of the previous one scrapes the top, stacking them in pairs with the folded legs together and the tops of each pair to the tops of the previous pair makes the stack unstable. The only ones I ever found that were designed to be stacked were the type where the top lifted off from the legs, which folded up in a concertina pattern. The tops had wooden blocks with a cap of rubber to locate into the frame and when stacked wouldn't slide or mark the top below. These excellent tables were also horrendously expensive but ......... twats ......... could still find ways to damage them ....... one lot were damaged by a firm's Christmas Party (Hooray Henry stockbrokers) who opened their bottles of fancy lager on the solid wood edges of them. (The firm was charged for two new tables and I ......... got rid of the old ones ....... with the edges re-routered they became nice sliding wardrobe doors for Sabina ) PS. Is that a suitably boring addition to the thread ?

I’m afraid that’s far too interesting for this thread.

The article above is intriguing me now.
The two people in the Mercedes were taken to the Princess of Wales hospital.
Strange coincidence as the Princess of Wales Di'd in a Mercedes.
