For the first time in my life i am going to have to admit defeat on this project, never have i had to ask for help before, only asking for help not giving in on the boat, nah chance.. This being i am in a lot of pain and often constant and have been so for a good time now with what i think is an old rugger wound from many years ago catching me up. I near broke my neck and now the pain is constant and from neck through shoulder and arm. So this sanding lark is not doing me any good at all so i am struggling to get it done. I am off to the docs soon to see if they can help. physio maybe. Cant live on Tramadol anymore lol. No not addicted. So there we are i need help, so if anybody can help i will do exchange work on there boat or even car mechanical work. Just laying on my back and sanding is not the best for it. Wayne still smiling

Wayne, years ago I tore a ligament in my back. It healed but as it is now scar tissue it always wants to tear in the same place. Pain is such that it can cause me to black out, very extreme pain......but use of a good TENS machine enabled me to operate at neaŕ normality, humping and hand balling stuff about and loading up my truck. My doctors hired our TENS machines so you could try one. Good luck Phil

Morning guys
T ha aTens machine somewhere but we cant find it, not sure if it will wokr as its from neck all down to the arm, not sure where to put it. maybe on the neck area first as this is what is causing the pain.
Worst part is that is is so much worse when i am sat and being a driver 11hrs a day, well you can imagine the kind of days i have FFS does my head in when i cant take and strong pain killers.

Ask about trying gabapentine or pregabalin rather than tramadol -
Before they trimmed my disk, the doc started me on 900mg a day, increasing to 1800mg which turned out to be just the right amount to keep me out of pain.
The downside to it being I put weight on easily and the brain is a bit cotton wooley ... some would say it's always been ! It IS good stuff but does take some getting off after you've been on it a while.

Sorry to hear that Wayne, I can't offer any help though. Unfortunately I am a bit too geriatric to add anyone elses jobs onto my own list especially as you are a 200 odd mile round trip from me. I hope you either (or both) get someone who can help a bit or something that controls the pain. all the best John

Dr started me on 100mg daily for the pain I have in my jawbone/ear/shoulder..couldn't tolerate even that tiny does made me feel sick..apparently when it does work, it works well.. Hope you get some help soon...

Hmm too far from me I’m afraid 130 miles from Castor. I am on holiday from the end of this month. For 3 weeks with nothing planned. I don’t mind coming up for a couple of days if you have a bunk on boat for me. Just shout if this helps you.

Tramadol works a treat but i am on cloud nine with them, i am a driver for work so have to be careful. I will ask if i ever get an appointment, not easy to get in my docs. You gte an hour time slot to ring and lucky if they answer its that busy. I was on redial today for over half hour and couldnt get an answer. Sorry to hear that Wayne, I can't offer any help though. As for more jobs, i have bought T a parrot and have rearrange dthe font room for the cage to go in, found that the floor has gone unde rthe sofa, wooden floor so the joists have rotten, so another job for the house and one that i will have to do. First new windows, cant be bothered fitting them, ikeep telling T we need to live on a boat as no mess like this lol, just a hull and deck, she is not falling for it yet lol. Sept 14, 2018 14:47:15 GMT 1 flatdog said:Hmm too far from me I’m afraid 130 miles from Castor. Looks lot of work....Gabapentin should be Ok with driving..its not like Tramadol(another drug I cannot take)..The former works on the root ..nerve pain and my friend was on huge doses for a bad back..worked for him.. They also tried me on a baby dose of amitryptilline for the pain as that works on nerve pain as well but i just slept..that does have sedative effect Talk to your Dr about what he thinks..

I did find I had to concentrate MORE when driving... for example, I'd see a traffic light and stop - irrelevant what colour was showing - a bit like my brain saying "Traffic lights mean stop" - quite often used to get beeped at by the cars behind lol

Manchester... every time I’ve ever gone there it’s rained.
I’ll bring my sander and a few tools if you have electric.
Then hope for a decent weather window.!!!!
