I sometimes have problems with cans of beer falling over so I have been wondering how to solve this. I was given a seagull century a while ago as I was an alternative to the skip. Anyway I've been breaking it up for use able parts and could not help noticing that the cast alloy bit at the bottom of the exhaust/leg is a beer can holder. Its made to measure. The can slides down about 20mm/3/4" into it. A snug fit but not tight. I reckon you could cross the Atlantic and lose very little beer. and it even has two screw holes for fastening to the required surface. I am very pleased with it. Aluminium polishes up lovely so I may polish it to compliment my polished boat. The other hole where the drive shaft went is ideal to put a little pole mounted tunnel light. Its always handy to have a stern mounted tunnel light even if you also have one up the front. An alternative would be to cut off the beer can holder part that would result in a very nice tidy beer can holder solution with a small footprint.

hmmmm ...... beer cans shouldn't fall over - unless you over-imbibe.
I may be navigating against the flow, cos everyone in the street and on TV seems to be drinking from cans, but personally I find the can totally spoils the taste - I always decant into a stout glass mug.

Although I applaud Andrew's inginuity I must agree as regards drinking out of cans/bottles

I call it beer the same way I call lager beer. Its an alcohol product around 5 or 6% abv. I switch from lager to cider from day to day according to mood. Fortunately the cans are all the same size.

hmmmm ...... beer cans shouldn't fall over - unless you over-imbibe. That's not strictly true when boating. I quite like to have a can of beer when transiting the tidal Thames so I can be less stressed about the danger of hitting blackfriars bridge(s) like what Mrs tabby did. Problem is that a small boat moves around quite a bit and it will throw the beer can over. Its not to do with getting bolloxed its to do with boat movement in certain cituations.

I don't drink beer..so working class... Well, I'm working class, and proud of it. The difference between working class and middle class is that a working class person can operate a 44 tonne articulated lorry whereas a middle class person can operate a pen... and so naturally middle class people earn half as much as I do.

And while we are talking of class it takes a certain class of person to always drink from the can. I do always do that and I have to admit that it does raise some eyebrows here and there. But I don't give a shit.

Drinking from a can saves washing up. 1. Drinking from a can saves washing up. 2. Drinking super strength lager saves having to take the bog to the Elsan as often.

I'm very concerned that you have not evolved to the pyrex jug solution.
