Whatever happened to proper English celebrations, Bonfire night and Penny for the guy, proper bangers to make banger guns, playing footy with Catherine wheels and jumping jacks. Never mind this Yankee nonsense. It will be different after Brexit. (that's the only time I will ever say that, and I doubt it's true because the Donald will require us all to dye ourselves orange and eat chicken washed down with bleach and celebrate everything American and build a border in Eire as part of the easiest trade deal ever!) your showing your ignorance. Halloween or Samhain started on these islands. Yes it has been re-impoted as a american/commercial corporate event that has been hyped up over the last 10years or so. But the centre of it is The Hill of Tara just outside of Dublin. Traditionally it is a time when the vale between the world is thin, so communication with the ancestors is possible. Spooky, wife's 83 yr old mother is with is and we're getting on very well.
